Jantje Pemberton was a longtime member and friend of the Maple Ridge Choral Society, and a supporter of many charitable causes in Maple Ridge and the Greater Vancouver area. She passed away in spring 2018 at the age of 95. The following notice appeared in the Vancouver Sun.

Janny passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, May 1, 2018. Predeceased by her husband Thomas, parents Jan Melle and Geertje (Oosterloo) Hooghart and her sister Janneke. Leaving to mourn four sisters in Holland, Maria, Gea (Willem), Trieneke and Greet. Janny was a retired Registered Nurse and worked for many years at Riverview Hospital. No service by request.
